Barefoot and Shod Running Foot Strike Sample from the NYC Barefoot Run
Been searching on and off for this clip from the NY Barefoot Run for a week or two and finally found it. I saw the clip for the first time at the VivoBarefoot lab and was in shock! Press play, take a look at the striking patterns of the runners in shoes, Vibrams or barefoot and see for yourself.
So it seems there is much work to be done to change the ingrained habits and patterns of our running bodies. Simply buying a pair of minimalist style shoes will not make you an efficient runner. Practicing drills and working on practicing the correct mechanics frequently seems the key to this.
